The Spring Bird Walk was so successful, we've brought it back for the Fall! Join LNJ for another networking and educational event created by LNJ24 graduate Lindsay McNamara from her graduation statement: 'I lead New Jersey when I prioritize my mental health and the wellbeing of others by introducing the LNJ alumni network to 'slow birding' through a mindful, guided walk during spring migration.' Grab your favorite LNJ buddy and join us for a bird walk on Sandy Hook on Sunday, September 7 from 12 pm - 2 pm. We will look out for early fall migratory birds, wading birds, songbirds, and anyone else who is in the park. We will meet at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook unit in Guardian Park (with the grilling areas, covered benches and public restrooms) and then head out on the paved multi-use pathway. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, bring water, layers, snacks, a hat, and binoculars if you have them. We have five pairs of 8×25 birding binoculars for you to borrow as needed, and we will have a spotting scope to look through as well. Our outings are rain or shine but in the event of extreme weather we will reschedule for a more enjoyable experience. Let’s get birdy!
